Group Coverage Through Your Job


Health insurance through a job is often a group plan — a group of employees and their dependents who are insured together under an employer policy. Covered California offers individual and family health insurance plans that you choose yourself.

The Affordable Care Act requires employers with more than 50 full-time equivalent employees to offer health insurance that meets certain minimum requirements for coverage and cost. If you’re offered an affordable plan through your job that meets these standards, you usually won’t qualify for financial help through Covered California.
